Limestone Tiger Beetle (Cicindela politula barbaraannae)
Otero County, New Mexico
An uncommon Tiger Beetle, that  is part of a poorly know taxonomic group of three described subspecies, from Texas and New Mexico.  Biology of the species is relatively unknow, except for their close association with limestone soils and rocks.  A few picures of adults and habitat

Some habitat pictures. In spite of huge areas of habitat, adult beetles appear to be scarce, a preliminary suvey suggest that they are confined to an area less than two hunded yards long (150 -180 m), and extending up the adjacent hillside.
